I find life-giving joy when I learn alongside others! My professional experiences range from School Administrator (Principal) to Middle School and High School Classroom Teacher to University Professor with teacher candidates. I have loved each experience and every minute of the learning and teaching. Currently, I am the Executive Director, Student Life & Success at Brock University in St. Catharines, Ontario.
My professional attention is centred on creating the conditions for all students to thrive in their post-secondary studies with special attention on equity-deserving groups. This blog is a place for me to professionally reflect on what I am learning. I use this space to hold myself accountable for sharing my thoughts and actions as I experiment, and to seek feedback from others. I named this blog “Togetherwise” years ago (you can scroll way back to read where I was at professionally as a brand new Vice Principal – these posts make me laugh today!), as I remain committed to the belief that together we are better. It is an active goal to gather wisdom from others while seeking to identify and eliminate systemic barriers to equity in response to diversity.
Five amazing young adults call me Mom, and my best friend is my life partner of 30 years. Reading is one of my favourite past-times, early morning swims, and weekend hikes.
I look forward to learning alongside you!
