A Reflective Learning Journal

The other day, I found myself talking about the “Sweet Spot of Learning” with some awesome grade six girls in math class.  Close your eyes and recall, or imagine, a time when the learning all came together.  What did it look like?  What did it feel like?  How did it change you? How can you find it again?

At a recent professional development day with Garfield Ginny-Newman, I was reminded of  synesthesia – the unique ability to see objects and simultaneously perceive a colour evoked by the object (wikipedia). Dr. Ginny-Newman was talking about how to create the classroom conditions that will invite students towards critical thinking ~ a sweet spot indeed!What colour was the sweet spot of learning you recalled?
